We are excited to invite you to a Summer Solar Sizzle on Sunday 24 of February. This BBQ will be one of dozens held around the country on the same day as part of Australia's first Summer Solar BBQ.
Did you know that there’s a quiet rooftop revolution happening in Australia? Already 1.5 million homes have solar on their roof, and there’s been a higher take-up of solar in the Tweed than almost all the rest of Australia!
Over the past few years the price of solar has halved, then halved again, and recently has plummeted again to new lows. New 'solar leasing' companies are opening up, which means you'll be able to get solar on your roof for no upfront cost, and pay it back over time with your bills (just like your mobile phone!).
Come celebrate with us the clean, green, no-fuel solar energy in Murwillumbah and the Tweed on the pleasant grounds of All Saints Anglican Church.
We’ll hear brief talks from experts on solar, and we’re also inviting local pollies and the media, and announcing the new figures on the number of solar homes in this electorate. The local Beyond Zero Emissions crew will demo their amazing model of a solar power plant. We’ll even have a solar cooker. But no worries – we’ll have regular BBQs as well to ensure plenty to go around.
Best of all its going to be fun, and we'd love you to come. (Meat and vegetarian options with salad - gold coin donation to cover costs)
